sighs in furstration as this probably another opponent the fighting cleric

Strange stuff Enkhild Ironfist |
|
Enkhild stops
along with Fodel at the next room, but does not enter. The strange
flooring reminds him of the fungus from the other room. "Ye'll not be getting me twice with the same trick..." His eyes go to the rafters, looking for the tell-tale signs of more of those icky slimy gooey creatures. [SPOT: 13] |
|
Kivara stays on guard Kivara Sunchild |
|
Kivara will remain "on guard" to watch the grop's back should anything be approaching while the others have their attention turned towards the door and room contents ... Furthermore, if Enkhild shows any discomfort at being with sheild, Kivara will let him use hers since he is at the forrunning of any assult to come ... (Let me know if he shows signs of missing the shield; Kivara will then offer it and he can use it). |
|
Nothing DM |
|
Nothing appears to be on the celing. The fungus is different
than the mold in the last room.
|
|
Cautious dwarf Enkhild Ironfist |
|
Gripping his
waraxe in both hands, the dwarf steps forward into the doorway, scanning
about with his darkvision, attempting to determine the size, and nature of
the room. [ooc: Furniture? Chests? Boxes? Staircase? Anything at all that marks it differently from a bare room with fungus in it?] Glancing down at the fungus on the ground, Enkhild tries to see if he recognizes it. "Ian, yer always talking about molds and slimes... do ye recognize this stuff?" |
|
Trappings DM |
|
None. The only difference is this room has a bare earth
floor, whereas the other had a stone floor.

Ian steps foward and squats down to take a better look
"Hmmmm, let me think for a moment...."
|
|
the doorway Kendrick Lokian |
|
"Here, why don't you try my torch and see if anything
moves."
|
|
It looks empty Enkhild Ironfist |
|
Enkhild turns to
the others. "Thank you for the torch offer, but the room appears to be empty except for the fungus. I don't believe there's any reason for us to be wasting time looking for moving plants. Unless some of you have some grudges against moving plants..." Enkhild laughs and steps back from the doorway, letting any who are interested in the fungus-filled room have their try at the matter. |
|
Well..... Rose |
|
Rose looks into the room but keeps her distance. She listens
to Enkhild and the others and then pipes in, "Well, we're
supposed to be clearing this place out. If we say it's done and they send
people in here and something happens to them I don't hink the counsel
would be too happy. We might as well try it.....just to be on the safe
side."
|
|
Killing plants Enkhild Ironfist |
|
Enkhild shrugs
his shoulders, grabbing the proferred torch from Kendrick. "Allright. If you say so, lass. I suppose I wouldn't want it on my conscience if someone were to be eaten by a mushroom. Time to burn some plants!" Enkhild moves back over to where Ian is crouched, and waits for the man's verdict before attempting to sweep through the plants with the torch. |

Fodel motions to Kendrik "I'll take the torch." He hopes
that if the fungus gets sporey he can job into hot action

hmmmmm Ian |
|
Ian studies the fungus" You know this looks very familiar
but, I just can't quit place it." Turning to the group"give me a second, I
know it will come to me" Ian starts to tap a finger on his chin and try to
remember what he knows of the fungus.
|
|
ahha!!! Ian |
|
" I remember now! this is often called Correlon's Courage,
some adventures eat it to counter fear." Ian goes on with a grin"it's very
delicate but, if we are careful not to bruise it, I think there is more
than enough for all of us." With that Ian begins to carefully cut the
fungas into squares. |

Ooooh let me see that Rose |
|
Rose's fascination with plants over rides her sense of
self-preservation and she moves in next to Ian. "If you
can get the root I might be able to cultivate some of this back at your
flat in town." OOC: Only got a 7 on the nature check :/ |
|
Hmmm DM |
|
Looking at a sample of thefungus she tries to liken it to
flowers. You know the general principle, dark place, but looking at the
fungus you are a trifle confused by the differences. Maybe once you get a piece home... |
|
Hmmmmmm Rose |
|
Rose cuts off a corner of her cloak and wets it down with
some water from her winskin. "I really have to by some
plain old cloth for stuff like this." She thinks to herself as
she further ruins her cloak. She takes her fungus square from Ian and
gently wraps it up in the damp cloth. She stows it away in her backpack
and then stands up. "Shall we see what's behind door
number 3?"
|
|
back and forth Enkhild Ironfist |
|
Enkhild grumbles
as he hands the torch back to Kendrick, once again. He moves back to his
position by the next door, where he had been standing before people had
started talking about burning down plants and harvesting courage.
Harvest courage, bah! he thinks to himself. Courage is on the inside, not in some plant! Gripping his waraxe tightly in both hands, he stands waiting for the others to get into position. |
|
Tastes like chicken Ian |
|
Once finished with the removal, Ian instructs the other
about the use of the fungus " If you ever feel an overwhelming fear, you
should eat a handful of this and it will help you regain control of you
emotions." He hands out shares to whomever wants them. "OK, lets see what else this place has to offer." Ian move along with the group. |

The next room DM |
|
Opening the door reveals something that Enkhild is
intimately familliar with. This is a collapsed and rotting blacksmith’s
shop. There is the usual assortment of crumbling tools in sight. A broken
hearth and bellows dominates the back wall. This room is fairly well lit due to the mostly collapsed celing. After a moment with the door open, you hear what sounds like the quiet croak of a frog. OOC: Had to make a slight change in the marching order due to space, put Kivara in a good spot to keep a lookout. |

Croaking? Enkhild Ironfist |
|
Though he hears
the sound of the croaking, he seems to pay little attention to his
surroundings as his eyes are fixed on the broken and ruined pieces of the
forge. "Look at this! A disaster!" Enkhild walks straight towards the largest pile of smithing debris, looking through the tools and items, almost near tears. He doesn't seem to even look around him for the source of the croaking, so distraught is he. [SPOT: 3] |

The Blacksmith's Shop DM |
|
As numerous party members enter the shop (please provide coordinates), the croaking continues
around you, tho the source cannot be seen. Everywhere you look things are in ruin. Enkhild, reaching the forge and bellows against the back wall, can see that the bellows is smashed beyond repair and the hearth wall is cracked and in a very sad state. Surely it would look worse however had not the talented hands of dwarves work the stone during it's conception. Tables are overturned and cracked or shattered and what once was a fine anvil lies covered with rust and salt from years of neglect under an open roof. Should you (or anyone else) wish to actively search through the debris and broken items, please give me a search check |

|
From both sides... DM |
|
As Enkhild makes his find, and examines it, the others in
the room either keep watch or continue searching. The croaking gets louder
for a moment as around the room a number of frogs about a foot long make
their way out of the rubble. The frogs are green and have black stripes on
their hindquarters. As one perches on a rock and focuses it's eyes on
Kendrick it opens it's mouth in a seeming yawn. Unlike a typical frog,
this one's mouth is lined with a tow of very sharp looking teeth.
From outside, Ian, Kivara and Kipler keep watch. Kipler hears a noise and watches to the west while Kivara sees a troop of skeletons round the corner, their attention focused on the party. After doing any regular posting you may need to do I'll need Init's all around |

Kivara realizes that the others seem more than a little preoccupied with something inside. Besides, the way she just yelled, something / someone was bound to hear her so dealing with these skeletons quickly would be best. She moves northwest so as to have a better view of the walking bones that approach. (move to S12 on map) Once there, she then proceeds to pull the sun-face medallion dangling from her belt and hold it forth as she uses it as a focual point for channeled divine energies. (turning rolls to follow) ooc: make the turning damage 11, not 15 as shown on dice results. It is supposed to add 4 to the end total, not to each dice -- I didn't realize how it would do that. Also, if the skeletons are one HD or lowerer, then they will be destroyed rather than turned (as that is less than half Kivara's level). |
|

Kipler's bolt strikes the frog and skewers it, causing it to
fall off the small rubble mound. The frog twitches for a moment, but is
still soon enough. Outside Kivara boldly makes her way across the courtyard and confronts the skeletons boldly presenting the sun faced medallion. As she focuses, a soft glow encompases her for a moment before spilling forth from the medallion to bathe the undead in Pelor's holy light. The skeletons stop in their tracks, their jaws dropping in what appears to ba a silent, unholy scream. Their jaws agape they crumble to dust, their armor and weapons falling to the ground as the wind blowing in off of the Moonsea causes their ashes to scatter around the courtyard. The round continues in SOKOL KEEP 05 |
